This particular project was pretty straight forward. The building structure made of railroad ties was constructed on the surface of the hill. After a year, the entire structure began sliding down the hill. They want to utilize the backyard as a vegetable garden. We designed a tiered structure to be built into the side of the hill.
Removing the railroad tie structures from the backyard was first. We then build the tiered vegetable garden from pressure treated lumber. The boxes were lined with weed fabric to prevent dirt leakage and to allow water to seep through relieving static pressure. Recycling existing pavers at the top creating a seating area. A staircase was built on the side to access the paver patio. Sodding the runners of the stairs. Pavers and pea gravel makes a walk way from the backyard gate to the patio door.
